On April 27th, temp workers engaged in gas production in Yakutia lost their patience. They organised a picket, expressing demands for security and nutrition during the spread of the coronavirus.
As early as April 11th, several temp workers had resulted positive to tests. The remaining 10,500 residents of working settlements were tested too, but they still haven’t received results. People are not isolated: they live in a crowded environment, utilising common baths and canteens.
Hundreds of gas workers took part in the protest rally. This is the second major protest in Russia after the events in Ossetia.
